Junior Olympics Qualifiers Pre-register!
The Arkansas Fencing Academy will be hosting the Junior Olympic Qualifier
Tournament on Saturday, December 19, 2009. Events include Cadet
(U17) Men's/Women's Foil, Epee, and Sabre; Juniors (U20) Foil, Epee, and Sabre.

Please pre-register on
AskFred. Fees are double at the door for those who did not pre-register!
The top 3 spots in each event will earn a spot in the
Junior Olympic Championships which will be held in Memphis, Tennessee on
February 12-15, 2010. For more information venue, visit the

2009 Fete de Fleuret Results Posted
Results for the 2009 Fete de Fleuret have been posted on
askFRED. Congratulations to all the winners and a sincere thanks
to the participants.

Robert Selected to Represent U.S.
Robert Welsch, at age 14, has been selected as one of twenty-four fencers
to represent the United States at an FIE satellite Senior World Cup tournament
for men's epee. As part of the selection, Robert will also receive his FIE
international fencing license, enabling him to participate in international
tournaments. This tournament will be held on March 7-8, 2009
at the Columbus, Ohio Greater Convention Center. It is the very first time
that an FIE Senior World Cup has been held in the United States.

Nadia earns her U.S. Citizenship
Nadia Tucha, manager and head coach of the Arkansas Fencing Academy, earned
her United States Citizenship on Friday, February 6 2009. Her swearing in
ceremony took place in Fort Smith. Nadia has been a resident of the United
States for 6 years and has been a wonderful and productive member of our
community. All of the members of the Arkansas Fencing Academy are proud of
Nadia for her accomplishment and we wish her all the best!
